Piano Playing is cool.
You gotta admit it.  No getting 'round it.

It's cool.

It's not exactly a breeze, but, well, it's COOL !!

And it's art.  Gotta have some art with your science.

Ok, technically, I can't comment much on an actual PIANO,
because I don't have one.

But I have the next best thing!

A synth.

Not one of those monstrosity sized, living room taking up, behomoths.
Which are rather magic.

Just a synth.

Synths can do a ton of sounds and have a magic all their own.
But the acoustic piano is old and sacred.  It's nothing to be sneezed at.
It's the soul of the synth.
A synth will never live up to the magic of the piano.
But, it comes pretty close and sneaks around and does other cool stuff.

The kinda stuff I like :)

And it fits in your computer room just fine.
And doesn't break the bank account.  (sometimes)
And doesn't annoy your neighbors.

Ok, you get the idea.

I'm just letting you know that I'm not goin into serious detail about that
magical beast the acoustic piano.
There are rants all over the web about whether a piano is better or a synth.
Well, is a guitar better than a piano?
You might as well try to answer that question first since...

IT'S THE SAME QUESTION.

For me it boils down to:

   acoustic piano:
      It's the master.
      It has a soundboard and physical strings that BLOW AWAY any piano-y sound
      coming out of a synth's paper speaker cones

   digital synth:
      It's nimble:  it dodges - it weaves.
      It can create MANY sounds some of which have never EVER been heard before
      by ANYONE and can kick a piece of music in a way that a piano, well, can't

Ok, enough about that.  I'll be talkin bout synths.

Some dayyyyy when I'm much more accomplished on my synth and have the money and
space required for one of those magical acoustic pianos,

well,

I'll get one.

In the mean time - synths are cool !!
