OVERVIEW:

shazware is homegrown windows utility software built by me - Steve Hazel.
If you're like me, you'll find these programs very handy.
I've built em over the years for myself and -I- use em a lot.
Just thought you might wanna try em, too...

You'll find these utilities very well behaved:

- small sized: all .EXEs 23K or less
  the screenshots in the docs are what make the SETUP.exe big

- simple to use
  no fancy whizbang glitzy user interface gadgets unless absolutely necessary

- no use of the registry
  except for file associations and uninstall app pointer

- can be used standalone
  no dll use other than the system dlls.

Perhaps you're -really- picky about size like the guy at
tinyapps.org?
If so, you can run the setup, copy the .EXEs out of the spot you installed
em and then uninstall.
You'll have -JUST- the .EXEs and be ready for good ole MSDOS...
(If you're into that.)

Otherwise just let em sit in the start menu under shazware.

Installing

First off, if you run into ANY problems, PLEASE EMAIL
ME!

unzip shazware.zip to find SETUPSHAZWARE.exe and run it.



SETUPSHAZWARE.exe will
- ask you for the "Install"  dir             (just use the default.)
- ask you which file associations you want.  (default is fine.)
- copy everything to the right place on your PC.

After running it, you can delete SETUPSHAZWARE.exe and .zip

UnInstalling:
   Go to Windows' "Control Panel" -> "Add/Remove Programs" application.
   select "shazware" in the list of applications.
   click the "Add/Remove" button.  (To start shazware's REMOVE application.)
      ALL start menu, Program Files and registry entries will be deleted.

  during replace, if it won't fit within line, it stops.  (needs to keep goin)

   less annoying version of update - no griping if no inet connection avail

      removing http:// and www. and trailing /s from urls
      also any string passed on command line (shazware.com for me:)

   update.exe checks for new stuff once a month (only)
   ned, lp now uses font:  consolas 10 and 8, respectively
   added lp assoc's in SETUP fiiiinally
   added .wmv to recog'd filetypes of webget

   minor update to webget to look for archive= and code= for java .jar n .class
   tossed webscrape - just textedit the .webget file and put it in yourself

   minor update to webget - now can pop up IE, and toggle/del 20 refs at a time
   nicer output to DbgView :/
   fixed a strcpy bug that'd blow the app

    added .tar as known archive type
    had BUG that only downloaded PART of the file sometimes - FEEXED :)
    now get 1st url from clipboard
    better filtering setup, too
   ned
    does PutBlk correctly (FINALLLY after years of dealin with this i fix it)
    scolling bug is fixed (brute force method, but oh well)
   FavLst
    makes another format of html output now (FavLst_Pop.html)
    that'll pop up all favorites in a directory of favorites at once
    (good for link checkin, etc)

   tweaked RenEm to rename when only case is different too
   (still need to add lp assocs - or make a GOOD gui assoc app)

   finally got setup.exe done and some "barely good enough" docs
   new lp utility for quick small printin (still gotta add assocs)
   shrunk the exe size from max 60K to max 23K :)  [tossed clib]
